Struthio camelus
Ostriches are an introduced bird released into the wild from failed Ostrich farms in the 1920's and 1990's. Some feral populations have survived.
These birds were found on a slow drive along two kilometres of the Moama-Barham Road 13-15 kilometres west of the railway line at Caldwell with a detour up Lashbrook Road.
A total of 11 Ostriches were seen in the Canola fields.
